The Lifebreath Air Cleaner
CLEANAIRE are the sole NZ agents for Nutech Energy Systems Inc. who have developed a new method of air filtration based on a principle known as Turbulent Flow Precipitation.
It removes close to 100% of coarser particles such as pollen, fungus spores, dust, animal dander and dirt; removes close to 90% of troublesome tobacco smoke and wood smoke particles and some bacteria; and even removes a large proportion of particles as small as one tenth of a micron - only visible in an electron microscope. And it does this continuously, day after day, year after year.
The Lifebreath Air Cleaner uses an entirely new particle capture technology to trap the full range of particles, down to sub-microscopic sizes. The principle of Turbulent Flow Precipitation was recently discovered by anti-pollution researcher Dr Francis Dullien. The Lifebreath TFP Air Cleaner removes airborne particles continuously, needs attention no more than once a year, and generates absolutely no ozone.
Available as an addition to a forced air ventilation system or, for those living in apartments or rented property, as a portable console unit. The portable Lifebreath air cleaner makes it easy to create a clean air environment. Two speed control ensures quiet, efficient and effective operation.

The Dullien Principle
During a distinguished career of over 40 years researching methods of pollution control, Dr. Dullien has made many discoveries concerning the behaviour of airborne particles. In one experiment, he observed that when particle-laden air is forced through a narrow airway, the particles are repeatedly flung against the internal walls. If the walls are smooth, the particles bounce off and re-enter the air stream.
Dr. Dullien and his team developed a way of harnessing this natural phenomenon to achieve a high rate of removal of particles from air streams. The called the new technology Turbulent Flow Precipitation -- TFP.
In the Lifebreath Air Cleaner, the walls of the internal airway through which dirty air passes are made of a pleated fabric which traps particles as they are flung out of the airstream. The result is a high rate of removal of even the smallest particles, with no filters to obstruct the flow of air.
Performance Figures, Number Versus Weight.
When you come to choose an air cleaner for your home, you may be puzzled by the high performance figures claimed for some very simple devices. Take a closer look and you could find that the manufacturer is measuring not the number of particles removed from the air, but the weight. For example, a simple media type filter may well remove all the particles larger than 5 microns in size, this could be expressed as an 80% removal rate - by weight. But, as these charts show, particles larger than 5 microns account for only 0.18% of the total number of particles in the air. That 80% figure sounds impressive but look at the numbers and you'll see that it leaves 99.82% of the particles still circulating.
Always look at the performance figures to make sure that they refer to the numbers of particles removed, not the weight.
Lifebreath captures even the smallest particles
In addition to capturing the larger dust and pollen particles, Lifebreath excels in removing the sub-microscopic particles that are a major threat to health. Nearly 99% of the particles in indoor air are less than 1 micron in size. Lifebreath is capable of removing as many as 90% of these dangerous particles every time the air passes through the Lifebreath unit.
The performance figures quoted here have been confirmed by an independent laboratory, Air Filter Testing Laboratories Inc.

Research has proven Lifebreath is more effective than other air cleaners
More recently, a production model of the Lifebreath Air Cleaner was tested alongside four competitive domestic air cleaners in order to compare their efficiency over a period of time. This graph records particle removing performance of all four cleaners over a period of 15 months.
